As a resident of Senate District 41, I’m proud to support Erin Farris-Olsen because I’ve seen firsthand how she leads.

Twenty years ago, I was leading a group hike and, as usual, wandered us off trail into a ravine. After a moment of uncertainty, I asked the group, “Where should we go from here?” Erin was on that hike. As the group discussed possibilities, she listened, summarized the conversation, and suggested a route based on consensus. It turned out to be the right path. That moment has stayed with me because it captures how Erin leads: she understands real leadership begins with listening.

Over the years, I learned more about the experiences that shaped her leadership. A top Girl Scout and accomplished debater through high school at Carroll College, Erin learned early that effective speaking starts with thoughtful listening, careful attention, and building on others’ ideas. She brings quiet confidence and steady competence to every conversation, building trust and getting work done.

Erin approaches difficult situations with urgency and calm. When challenges arise and backing down is not an option, she stands firm without losing perspective. She leads with character, courage, and empathy, essential qualities for lasting change.

As a working parent, mother, small business owner, and engaged community member, Erin has witnessed how our valley grows and changes. She understands the freedom, opportunities, and concerns we value, including affordability. In uncertain times, SD 41 needs a leader who listens, thinks clearly, and acts decisively. Erin Farris-Olsen is that leader.
